Genomic selection for improved heat stress tolerant populations and lines

Six multi-parent synthetic populations were formed for genomic selection for heat stress tolerance. Each population involved 8 to 12 CIMMYT-Asia adapted lines (heat tolerant donor lines and CIMMYT Asia elite lines) (Table 1). The S2:3 families from each of the population were genotyped with 300 to 400 polymorphic SNPs and their test crosses were evaluated at multiple heat stress environments across South Asia.
